Flight Departures at Phuket International Airport

Phuket International Airport is served by many international airlines, including Aeroflot, AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, Emirates, Finnair (seasonal only), Firefly, Korean Air and Malaysian Airlines. Phuket airport serves around 37 destinations world-wide, including London and Hamburg, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne and Sidney, Istanbul and Delhi.

From Phuket International Airport it is easy to travel to other destinations in Thailand to explore more of this beautiful country. A flight from Phuket to Bangkok costs around 1,400 THB one way (1.00 Euro = 37.56 THB).

Getting to Phuket International Airport is easy – there are airport buses that link Phuket City, Patong and the various other beach resorts with the airport. There are also many companies offering limousine services that are door-to-door. Travelling from Phuket City to the airport takes around 1 hour and 5 minutes. A private limousine hire from Karon Beach on the southwest coast back to the airport takes approx one hour and 15 minutes for the 43 km trip. Pre-arranging minibus hire, if you are travelling as a group of six, is a good option, as the cost of travel reduces considerably.

Departure passengers need to go to the terminal's third floor, where the check-in counters are located. The counters open three hours before departure for international flights, and close 50 minutes before departure of flights. It is advisable to be at the terminal least two hours before your international flight leaves. Domestic travelers should be at the airport at least one hour prior to their flight.

Passenger lounges are located on the fourth floor, after passengers have passed through security controls. All lounges offer travelers free WiFi, and there are several shops, including duty-free shopping, a Burger King restaurant, Boarding Café, Tastes of Thailand, Dairy Queen milk shake bar and various other outlets that help passengers pass the time before their flight leaves. There's even an outlet offering Thai massage!

Several ATM's and currency exchange desks also make life easier for travelers in a hurry. Phuket International Airport also has restrooms for people with mobility problems.

If you are transferring from an international flight to a domestic one, you will most likely need to go through immigration again, although passengers arriving via Bangkok will already have gone through Thai immigration. Transfer passengers must also go to the third floor to the check-in counters and check in again for domestic onward travel. A new online E-Visa service, operational from November 2018, will help to keep queues to a minimum, as the procedure takes only about a minute and passengers can pay online with their credit card.
