Taxi Transfers To and From Phuket International Airport

Passengers without a pre-arranged limousine service will find the Taxi Meter stand just outside the Phuket International Airport terminal. All these taxis operate on a metered fare system, with an added 100 TBH of airport fees per trip, but this is still considerably cheaper than limousine services and much faster than taking an airport bus.

For example, a 50-minute trip from Phuket Airport to the resorts of Patong Beach costs around 23.00 euros or 864 TBH for two people travelling with a suitcase each during peak times. Generally, the fare is between 620 and 770 TBH. Also located on the southwesterly side of the island, popular Kata and Karon Beach resorts attract similar metered taxi fares, about 740 to 890 THB, depending on the time of travel.

A single journey for 1-3 passengers going to Phuket City costs between 480 and 630 THB, while travelling to MaiKhao Beach, which lies close to the airport, costs between 320 and 470 TBH.

Travelling to Surin Beach costs between 480 and 630 TBH, depending on the time of day tourists wish to travel. A single journey to Rassada Pier for 1-3 passengers costs between 530 and 680 TBH, while a trip to Kamala Beach costs from 550 TBH to 700 THB.

Travelling to Rawei Beach on the eastern coastline, where traditional fishing villages are a popular attraction, means paying about 710 to 860 TBH for a metered taxi journey.

Some of the taxi companies also arrange for tours, for example a 5-hour exploration of Phuket City, or trips to Green Elephant Camp or Tiger Kingdom Phuket, which is located about 15 minutes by taxi from Karon Beach.

If you want to use a metered taxi service for your journey from Phuket Airport to your resort, be sure to book well in advance. Most companies will need at least 6 hours advance notice of your booking. Around 16 million passengers used Phuket Airport in 2017, so it can get very, very busy and you may have to wait a long time for your metered taxi, if you don't take the precaution of pre-booking well in advance during the peak holiday season. Typical service hours for independent operators are from 6.00 am to midnight, but some serve passengers needs 24/7.
